When remodeling your tub or shower, the first place to start is deciding whether you want a tile shower or tub or a plastic shower or tub. A plastic shell can be put in your bathroom in a matter of a day, but tiling a shower or tub can take several days. If you are looking for a quick bathroom remodel for your tub or shower, using a shell is the best way to go. But if you want to take time to do an excellent, high quality job, remodel your bathroom shower or tub using tile. Once you have decided how to remodel the tub or shower, everything else will fall into place!
Having a theme is a wonderful way to make party organization easy for you, still have everything be very fun, and give your party that "put together" look. One easy way to do this is simply to have a "baby" theme. Gather together decorations with storks, diapers, bottles, and rattles. Or maybe you don't want the traditional feeling that this would convey. Instead, you could choose a seasonal theme. For example, maybe Valentine's Day is close by. Use hearts and flowers for decorations and you'll have a Valentine's Baby Shower. You could do the same thing with Halloween, the Fourth of July, or Christmas if they're having a Christmas baby. And this theme doesn't have to just be holidays; instead use one of the four seasons (obviously whichever one the baby is going to be born in). A summer or beach theme would be a lot of fun and give you a starting point with which to organize the party.
Gift Idea #1: Give the couple an original piece of artwork, but you'll need to pick their brains first and see where their tastes lead (unless you already know). Some great places to find original art are eBay, Red Bubble, and Image Kind. All of which are online, but eBay has the most affordable prices and if you buy direct from the artist that's always better. Plus, if you buy direct from the artist with the stipulation that it's a gift, the couple can exchange it for another piece if they'd like to. The bottom line is that art is a cool gift because it's frequently something that the couple won't buy for themselves.
So when it comes down to cotton based curtains in your shower, it really is a matter of preference and attention to detail. Are you someone who wants the luxurious and comforting feel of cotton in your bathroom setting? If so, pay close attention to whether or not a shower curtain liner will be needed to avoid long term dampness to the cotton. Aside from that minor conundrum, cotton is a fantastic material for a shower curtain and with the many different modern designs; it is a cinch to incorporate one into a pre-existing theme!
